I recently had a milestone birthday and as a treat I decided to invest in a make up lesson as I had never really learnt! Liz was amazing. I am so glad that I chose to go and see Liz as opposed to a salon, she is extremely knowledgable, approachable and made it fun. In the 2 hours or so I learnt so much about colours, application, what to invest in and what not to do in order to get that glowy, natural looking skin. I learnt how to enhance my features in subtle ways. I also took along all my make up and Liz helped me sort through this so that I now have a comprehensive but compact make up bag. Liz followed up with an email detailing the session and more tips. It’s probably one of the best investments I have made and people have commented on how I don’t look my age! So a huge thank you Liz, I may be coming back for an advanced session soon!

Lizz did my hair and make-up for my wedding in June 2023. She was an absolute joy to work with, from the very first email, through to my hair and make-up trial in April, and on my ‘big day’ in June. She helped me and my maid of honour look and feel our absolute best, took on board all of our ideas and preferences, and hit the brief perfectly. Lizz did my make up for my wedding a few weeks ago and was amazing! I was a bit worried about my make up originally as I don’t usually wear much but she was so reassuring and listened to what I wanted and came up with a style that I loved in my trial 🙂 then on the day she was so lovely and fun and friendly and me and my bridesmaids all loved our make up. I could not rate Liz more highly. My first ever make-up lesson at the age of 63 and I was a bit nervous, after all I’ll have been doing things in such an amateurish way for so long. Liz was skilled and highly professional but so importantly, has a warm manner that immediately puts you at ease and makes you feel she is genuinely interested in you. She listens, advises and explains, happy to work collaboratively even though she is the real expert. Being given the detailed notes and product lists an added bonus and really useful. I would love to use Liz again for a special event and certainly recommend to others.

The hours before our wedding were zen and comfortable thanks to Lizz.The makeup and hair style fit the indy/non-traditional style I was looking for and very importantly, it stayed put the entire day from noon until midnight.Lizz was great to work with. Lizz started off our shoot perfectly when we went to hers in the morning to have makeup and hair done for an editorial shoot. She was absolutely lovely and we felt so comfortable and well taken care of, and we had so much fun together! She was a wizard at her job and the makeup was flawless. Lizz recently worked with me and a Brighton agency on an ad campaign for a mental health charity. We didn’t need anything extravagant, but a lot of HMU artists find it difficult to execute a natural look that works well under complex lighting. Not Lizz, once we’d briefed her she was up and running and she delivered our models exactly as we wanted. She then stayed with us during the shoot with an eagle eye for ‘hot spots’ from the lights, or stray hairs or any of the other things that can go adrift without us noticing. On top of being a very talented HMU artist, she was great with the client and agency people, diplomatic, discreet, dependable and calm. She has a high level of technical skills, a ton of products to call on, listened well, kept to the brief, and …best of all… she a very happy person to be around, that’s so important when a set can teeter on the brink of stressful. I’d be very keen to ship her out of Brighton to anywhere I am shooting. Bottom line? Highly skilled, totally professional and a joy to work with.

Lizz did the make up for my wedding last weekend. Results – wow, what can I say. I don’t think I’ve ever felt that pretty before. The bridesmaids also looked absolutely stunning. Tailoring/flexibility – what was really great about Lizz is how she adapted her skills and knowledge to fit what you wanted. I wear little make up so Lizz created something really light and natural but considering the colour palette our wedding had. The bridesmaids all had slightly different approaches and Lizz was able to work with that and incorporate personal style whilst still being on theme. Cost- not a problem at all. The cost was very reasonable if not a bargain for the service received. Communication – fantastic. Lizz responds quickly at all times. Personality- Lizz is a lovely person and put me totally at ease during the trial and on the day. Overall – the full package. What more could you want? I was quite nervous about my wedding hair and makeup as I’ve never had professional makeup done before (and I don’t wear much makeup day to day)… my main fears were having over the top theatrical makeup and a hairstyle that would drop out after a few hours :/ However, as soon as I got in touch with Lizz I knew I had nothing to worry about. During the trial I felt super comfortable and excited – there was plenty of time to talk through and try out potential looks and to get to know each other a bit. I was really impressed with Lizz’s expertise and brilliant knowledge of the best products to use to enhance (rather than mask) my own personal style. On the wedding day Lizz was super-organised and efficient, navigating a small hotel room without making my three bridesmaids’ and I feel in any way rushed or uncomfortable – she had a big job to do but you wouldn’t know it, Lizz was totally calm throughout! We’re all really different hair/ looks-wise too but Lizz made sure we all had a version of the same look that genuinely suited us individually. My sister was mesmerised by watching how Lizz did everyone’s makeup with such care and precision – she said watching it was like getting a free makeup lesson! Lizz’s work also lasted really well all day (and evening), not something to be underestimated on a super windy Brighton day and (a few) glasses of sparkling wine. I would absolutely recommend Lizz to anyone looking for an independant hair and makeup artist. Given her friendliness, attention to detail and support in the run up to the wedding day, the cost was incredibly reasonable and worth it if you’re looking for peace of mind, and want to feel at your most beautiful (because I certainly did!) Everyone looked stunning, they got a real personalised service as she took time to ask what each individual wanted and talk to them making them feel at ease. Lizz recently did my make-up for my wedding and I’d be happy to recommend her! I went for a trial with her first of all, and she was easy to work with, as I wasn’t keen on my first version of make-up, so she changed it until I felt it was me (I wanted going out eyes, and barely there make-up for my skin). I naturally feel uncomfortable asking for changes for anything, but she made it easy for me, explaining it was part of the process. On the day, she was on time, a lovely person to have around as I was getting ready, and she did my make-up, my mum’s and my best friend’s. Our make-up, and my lashes held out for the day, and she gave us little pots of lipstick to top up when needed.

Lizz did my makeup for a wedding in Brighton – I contacted her kind of last minute after a bit of google search. She is fantastic really easy to communicate with, sent her a few photos of what I wanted and she did exactly that! She was super fun and professional and I was so happy with my makeup. There were 7 of us in total and Lizz was a fun, calm, professional make up artist throughout despite a small working area and a gaggle of excited women. I was so pleased with the results and we all felt absolutely beautiful for our big day. I was really impressed with the make over Lizz did on me. She was very attentive about the fact that I’m quite inexperienced when it comes to cosmetic products and not really having much of a routine when it comes to doing my own make up, and she gently guided me through her process and took a lot of care figuring out what would suit my pale complexion. She also carefully chose an eye shadow when doing my smoky eyes to bring out their colour which I thought was a lovely personal touch! I contacted Lizz initially about bridal hair and make up, and after my trial I was sure that she was the person I wanted on the day. She was professional, prompt, quick to respond to emails, and really flexible around our re-arranged Covid wedding. But, most importantly, she was just absolutely brilliant and did a great job! I’ve never had full hair and make up done before and any time I’ve had hair done as a bridesmaid I’ve struggled with it. Lizz was really open to discussing everything with me at each step of the trial and the main event and I felt so comfortable saying what I did and didn’t like. She also just totally ‘got’ the look I wanted to go for, and made it a reality! Such a great make-up artist! We’re a video production tasked with filming a major US show in a studio in Brighton. Whenever you’re dealing with someone new you’re always a bit trepidatious but at every interaction Lizz assured me she was up to the job. She calmed me with her understanding of the project and impressed me with her warm personality. Come the day I was no less impressed. Liz went above and beyond the brief; our main character who after a year of lock down was ashen and white was supposed to be sun bronzed. Lizz transformed him so excellently that he looked like he’d just walked off a beach in the Algarve. It’s the nature of make-up on a film set that you only notice if it’s bad. Liz’s application was flawless in both appearance and execution. Furthermore she is a real character regaling us with funny and interesting stories which everyone knows is the real fuel that runs productions. I was so impressed with Lizz I attempted to book her the following week but unsurprisingly she was booked on another job. The next time I’m filming anywhere down south she will be my first call.

I find it difficult to make up my eyes as they are quite small – but wanted something done for a special occasion. Lizz achieved a wonderful Smokey eye effect using browny greys and even added a flick of gel eyeliner – enhanced with really comfortable natural false lashes.
